Microtek Solar DC Cables are specifically engineered for the connection of photovoltaic modules in comprehensive solar system installations. These cables feature UV protection, minimal conductor resistance, and robust mechanical strength to withstand diverse weather conditions.
The cables have a current carrying capacity of 40 Amps.
It is important to note that the silver appearance of the cables is due to a TIN coating, not a lack of copper. If the TIN coating is scratched, it reveals the pure copper cables beneath. The XLPE cables consist of pure annealed copper with a TIN coating that enhances conductivity in accordance with TUV standards. Utilizing standard copper cables for solar applications is not recommended.
The electrolytic grade copper wires, with a purity of 99.99%, exhibit significantly lower conductor resistance (<0.0015Ω/m) compared to uncoated copper wires, which have a resistance of approximately 0.0045Ω/m at 25°C in dry conditions. Furthermore, these wires offer exceptional mechanical strength, attributed to the high tensile strength and elongation characteristics of copper conductors (minimum 10%). We offer these products in various dimensions, including AWG, mm², or sq. mm.
